The Collection and Its Owner
The largest model aircraft collection was started by Bader Yousif Murad of Bahrain in 1978 and by the year 2000 had comprised about 1,105 model aircraft representing over 440 airlines.
The collector’s fame has spread all over the world and the story of his success has been published in a new series of English-language course books, aimed at international distribution.
The entrepreneur entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000 for owning an extensive model aircraft collection, the prosperous multi-million dollar Model Aircraft Company has been named after him. Today, there are as many as 7,000 items in his collection.
Being overwhelmed by the passion for aviation since his childhood, he tried hard to cultivate his company into the business success story it is nowadays. He started developing model aircraft himself and now his Bader Models Company’s clientele consists of royal family members, airlines, aircraft owners and even movie stars.

Murad’s first step was to organize operating of his company from his home, performing everything online. Today the company’s offices has been opened in New York, Chicago and San Diego in the US, Doha, Qatar and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the headquarters in Bahrain. At the begining 90 per cent of business was centered in the US and Japan. Today, 99 per cent are found in foreign countries.
Murad also managed to found his own manufacturing plant that keeps on expanding into other lucrative enterprises. In particular, he has expanded the range of his aircraft models to include private yachts and architectural models.
Aircraft collectors worship Bader’s models for their accuracy and the scrupulous attention to detail that accompanies their manufacture. The industry experts consider Murad’s airplanes to embody the 'Rolls Royce' of model aircraft.
The Book and the Museum
Pearson Longman took care of publishing the book targeted at young people who are dreaming about following the footsteps of Bader Yousif Murad. The Bader International Aviation Museum undertakes tours around the world.
