Born in La Chaux-de Fronds in 1958 to parents of mixed European ethnical backgrounds namely a Swiss father and a mother with Italian heritage, Muller's childhood diversity derived from international culture and influence, proportioned him a unique rearing and adolescence providing him a broader perspective than most into the appreciation of fine art and instilling within him an acumen for mechanical things which was soon evident to everyone who knew the lad. As a youth, he was often found dismantling and reassembling all types of mechanical and electronic devises which occupied a major portion of his free time. He was an ingenious lad and has carried his skill and genius with him throughout his life, incorporating all the valuable aspects of artist, inventor, scientist and master craftsman into a career of prosperity and success as one of the most respected watchmakers ever to live.

His curiosity and proven skill helped to prepare him as a youth so as to enable him to enroll, at the early age of fifteen, in the famous and most respected School of horologists in all of Geneva, "Ecole d' Horlogerie de Geneve". He received help and encouragement from his advisors and because of his outstanding accomplishments and insight into what was taught him by his professors, he was able to develop and build upon his own ideas and creations which, have come to us as inspirations of art in their purest form, straight from the Master himself.

The Creator Several years after his enrollment and many awards later, Franck Muller graduated first in his class and with honours. During the early to mid-1970's, there was a inundation of electronic, digital and quartz movement watches from Asia and Southeast Asia, this was a time when the finer automatic timepiece instruments and mechanical watches were somewhat shelved and forgotten about by the majority of the population. Only enthusiasts and collectors of fine watches continued to search out and acquire watches of high caliber. Notwithstanding this time of recess in the fine mechanical watch market , Muller and others began spending time restoring and renovating older timepieces, clocks and watches of mechanical nature. Muller spent a great part of his first professional years dedicated to mechanical timepieces for collectors, museums and auction houses.

Soon Muller's expertise was founded in his ability to dismantle and reassemble any timepiece that fell into his hands. His reputation raced on before him and he soon found collectors and enthusiasts all over Europe sending him their heirlooms to be repaired and put back into functioning. Meanwhile, over the years and through his travels he had the opportunity to look at and repair a good many types and brands of watches, which, required an array of specialized tools and equipment many pertinent and particular to the watch brand and country of origin. Through this extensive process, and over time Muller gathered up and organized his own "tool chest" of watch making and repair tools, as well as an international reputation as a master restorer of antique timepieces.

By 1992, some 11 years ago, Muller had amassed 4 patents and 21 world premiers, Muller's work was known for its unique combinations of highly sophisticated features as well as the outstanding accuracy of their functions.
