Speedmaster Professional was the first watches to be worn on the moon on 21 July 1969 by astronaught Neil Armstrong. As he made the famous steps quoting "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind", he was wearing his Omega Speedmaster professional chronograph. After undergoing the toughest series of tests in the history of watchmaking, the Speedmaster Professional had been selected by NASA, in 1965, to accompany man's greatest adventure of all time, recording significant moments in the conquest of space.And, in 1970, this same chronograph was instrumental in rescuing the crew and craft of the Apollo 13 mission from disaster after an on-board explosion timing the rocket engine firing that sent them back to earth.
